STARTING: EVERY MONTH
This Portfolio Development Cohort is specially created for visual artists or photographers who would like to develop their body of work and get mentoring at high level. This cohort can be divided into 1×3 hours or 2×1,5 hours. Together with your mentor you will be editing new and previous work, discuss your artistic vision and add new images if needed. Because it is hard to predict how many hours are needed or you would like to work together with your mentor we kept this cohort limited to 3 hours. If you would want more meetings, of course that is always possible. Your mentor will also give you homework, writing assignments. Also research is part of this development process. If you prefer we could even work towards an artistic statement. This cohort can be joined online or at our school. So if you live in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, New York, Dubai or any other place and want to develop yourself, we would like to help you grow!!
DARKROOM
EXPERIENCE
We want to keep your first time in the Darkroom simple and it should be fun. So we invented a new way of analogue printing. You only need to bring a mobile device, preferably your phone, but a tablet will also do. You will print your own images but by an hybrid proces that we a few years ago successfully developed. Start creating your own analogue experience! Our 3 hour workshop costs 85 euro per person.
SOFTWARE EDUCATION
DARKROOM PROF. COURSE
First day you come to our Institute and bring a digital camera just for practice. We will educate you about the basics, exposure, analogue equipment etc. Day 2 you go out and shoot images on film and develop your own negatives. Day 3 is all about printing, dodging, burning etc. We have combined all the important info into a folder that we will give you on your first day. When you finish the module successful you will get a certificate. Coffee & tea are free.

Photography is going old school. Developing your own films and printing your own negatives in a darkroom feels like magic. During this workshop you are going to print your own digital image on analogue paper. And we guarantee you, it will be love at first site!

theFOTOfacts STUDENTWORK
When our students finish the development project module it results in a digital Issuu magazine. This is also a part of the training, not only make your own series but also editing and combining with other works. Decisions about cover photo, landscape or portraitscape, layout, fonts etc. Here you can learn from each other, discuss content and strengthen the final product.
ABOUT the FOTOfactory
We run courses and workshops for beginners and experienced photographers alike. Five day workshops and intensive courses lasting several weeks/years cover areas from studio lighting for beginners to digital capture with camera movements for professionals. Our courses are presented in a relaxed atmosphere where student involvement is encouraged, feedback is important, and the instructors are always available to answer questions. Regardless of one’s ambitions, a single good course can make photography that much more fun.
