Develop your storytelling capacities. Ontwikkel je talent om verhalen te vertellen met beeld. Learn to make series. Project ontwikkeling.
In the modules PD I & II you will work with different teachers to make various visual stories. Taught is how atmosphere, story, technology and composition all come together. Storytelling is everywhere. From photographing for magazines (travel, interiors, portraits, etc.) to create the atmosphere of reports (business) celebrations and parties.
Exposing a picture correctly is the using the aperture to control the amount of lights. Doubling the amount by opening your aperture or extending your shutter speed will give you twice as much exposure. Use the aperture and shutter speed settings on your camera to make a technically good exposed photograph. During our basic course photography you will learn how to work with these settings and finally to shoot only in the manual mode.

ABOUT the FOTOfactory
We run courses and workshops for beginners and experienced photographers alike. Five day workshops and intensive courses lasting several weeks/years cover areas from studio lighting for beginners to digital capture with camera movements for professionals. Our courses are presented in a relaxed atmosphere where student involvement is encouraged, feedback is important, and the instructors are always available to answer questions. Regardless of one’s ambitions, a single good course can make photography that much more fun.
Photography is going old school. Developing your own films and printing your own negatives in a darkroom feels like magic. During this 3hour workshop you are going to learn all you need to know when you enter your darkroom. Enlarger, paper lights, films and chemicals, everything revealed by an absolute analogue pro!! Printing on analogue paper is not done by negative but by a hybrid developed in-house technique. And we guarantee you, it will be love at first site!
In August we have planned a new Summercourse Film & Photography. Starting 7th of August during 3 consecutive Days, specifically for International Students who want to study a few days in Amsterdam. We are going to dive into the art of visual storytelling, based on correct exposure, handling of aperture, shutter speed and iso. Technical explaining combined with exercises in enchanting city center Amsterdam. Inclusive, social and fun are important keywords also.
When you want to join our Darkroom Lounge you need to have a bit of experience with analogue printing. Also you need to bring your own analogue B&W negatives to the Lounge. We provide the paper, chemicals, [24x36mm] enlargers, trays & tongs. The membership is for one evening and the size per evening is max. 2 people. So there is enough personal attention to make good analogue prints that will shine on your wall! Our 3 hour training costs 150 euro per person.
